I am a Consultant Physician based at the North Manchester General Hospital. My particular interests are General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Stroke Medicine.

The purpose of this site is to inform visitors about my work and current interests and to provide information about Stroke.

I run a Specialist "fast-track" service (NHS and Private Practice) for patients in the Manchester area who have suffered a TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack) or mini-stroke (primary prevention), and Stroke, who therefore need urgent specialist treatment and management of associated Stroke risk factors. I also run a secondary Stroke prevention service aimed at preventing stroke recurrence.

I am Chairman of the North Manchester Stroke Council (a voluntary forum) whose Aims (listed in this Website) include improving the awareness of Stroke and reducing the burden of Stroke. I produce regular Newsletters which are accessible from www.strokenewsletter.co.uk, with the aim of educating and informing readers about various aspects of Stroke, including international and national developments within this area of medicine, as well as providing details of local events in the Manchester area.

I would like to invite comments to views@strokenewsletter.co.uk from people who have had strokes or who have had experience in coping with stroke, to display on our Stroke Newsletter Notice Board. For details please access North Manchester Stroke Council on this Website.

I also provide a consultant general medical and geriatric medical service in the NHS as well as in my Private Practice setting.
